Melbourne Airport – Major AGL Upgrade Project (2019 -22)

Avionics were engaged directly by Melbourne Airport to complete the largest AGL project in the past 20 years. This major project required to replace all existing lighting with new generation addressable LED lighting to effectively upgrade the airport to CAT3 Operations on both runways.
Avionics completed new AGL Infrastructure, including a number of runway and taxiway underbores, new secondary trenching, new pits, new wide slots on pavement to all lights, whilst interfacing to other contractors on site and normal airport operations.
The project also required a major upgrade of the Safegate CMS.
