Cairns HIAL Upgrade Project

Avionics Airfield Lighting has been contracted to upgrade the high intensity approach lighting (HIAL) system associated with the Runway 15 CAT 1 Precision approach facility.

The project includes all works associated with the upgrade of the HIAL including: removal of existing HIAL infrastructure for select areas, new pit and duct network for the entire length of the system.

Out with the old, in with the new.

New cable tray and cover for the HIAL structure crossing the Barron River, new electrical cabling and series isolating transformer install, new footings for Bars A & B along with other locations, new poles and masts & all new state of the art LED HIAL fittings
