AV106L – Elevated Runway Starter Extension Light
For a runway starter extension, the end of runway pavement beyond the declared end of the landing distance available must be lit by at least 2 blue taxiway edge lights that are visible to the pilot using the starter extension before performing a reciprocal turn and not visible to, or shielded from the view of, a pilot on approach to the runway for which the starter extension is provided.
Avionics AV106L was designed to provide peak luminous intensity of 9.4 Cd with the light distribution similar to the taxiway edge light.
AV106L meets CASA MOS 139 requirements at 1.6W of power, thanks to superior highpower LED chip and without need of secondary optical lens.
